TOPICS<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The topics are: read, event, write and response.
Each topic has a different type of message that the MQTT broker uses to filter messages for each connected client, the topics are composed in levels divided by slash.<\/p>\n

Example<\/b>: home\/livingroom\/light<\/p>\n

These are the four topics which we will subscribe to at the end of the configuration:<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Topic read<\/strong>: Is used\u00a0to retreve the status of the devices.<\/p>\n

Topic response<\/strong>: Is the device’s reply to the automation server read request.<\/p>\n

Topic write<\/strong>: This topic is used to set the value of\u00a0 a device parameter.<\/p>\n

Topic event<\/strong>: This topic display the status of the device in case it changes.<\/p>\n

Topic Response<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The “Topic Response<\/strong>” is needed to reply the read mesasge coming from the device.<\/p>\n

Example:<\/strong> First connection to retrieve the current status of the devices.<\/p>\n

Topic Write<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The “Topic Write<\/strong>” sends the command to the device when the component in the EVE system changes.<\/p>\n

Example:<\/strong> When the user change a state of a switch from the App EVE Remote Plus<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Each device may requires a different type of message.<\/p>\n

You can create the payload of the MQTT message\u00a0 using a piece of javascript that starts from the value of EVE system component and prepare the message that your device need in the right format, pure text, JSON or any other.<\/p>\n

Topic Write data sending<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The\u00a0 Switch<\/b>\u00a0and the other binary components comes with a value of 0 and 1 in the payload<\/b>\u00a0variable.<\/p>\n

Inside the EVE System the percentage<\/strong> is processed as a value from 0 to 1, the components that uses the percentage such as the Slider<\/strong><\/a> or Changeable Value<\/strong><\/a> will have this configuration set up as its write topic.<\/p>\n

Topic Event<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The “Topic Event”,\u00a0<\/strong>this topic will report a change status coming from the device.
i.e: A power meter reports the power consumed each time the value changes.<\/p>\n

In case of a temperature<\/strong>, power<\/strong>, energy<\/strong> etc, the components choosen to display this values is the Info<\/strong> <\/a>component. as you can see from the image below the script will just get the value coming from the device.<\/p>\n

You can use this script to create your message based on its value:<\/p>\n

To report a switch status<\/strong>, it will be needed build the script as it follow.<\/p>\n

PAYLOAD<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n

A payload is a piece of code that contains a javascript function.
\nFor each topic, a javascript function is executed to process the topic payload.<\/p>\n
